Issue Power of Attorney

 Empowering an attorney is one of the acts performed in notary. Any foreigner may have a need for a person who may perform his operations and follow his acts such as obtaining citizenship, receiving a residence permission card, buy or sell a residence in Turkey and etc. In such cases a person may go to any near notary public office and empower other person/persons for the acts he wishes or needs. In short, the definition of Power of Attorney is a written empowerment of any person to perform specified actions on behalf of the proxy giver before notary public.

As every country has its own law system, so a foreigner has to learn how the bureaucracy works in Turkey, which procedures and provisions are required. In this context, it is very important to know that notary public offices work just with the translators, which are sworn in their office, and approve translations done only by these translators and translation bureaus. As in Turkey the official language only Turkish,  so the notaries accept documents written only in Turkish.  Consequently, for any act to be performed in notary public all of the documents, such as passport, birth of certificate and etc. has to be translated in the sworn translation bureau and approved by the notary that they have an agreement with.  

On the other hand besides written translations we provide oral translation services. First of all an authorized notary employer (clerki head clerk) tests a foreign citizen’s level of Turkish language. After that if authorized person decides that a customer does not know Turkish enough to comprehend the act he is to perform or if a customer declares that he does not know Turkish, the authorized person informs the customer that he has to get service of a sworn translator, they have agreement with.

A sworn translator is a person that has graduated from a relevant faculty (Translation and interpretation, language and literature etc.), has any other diploma or certificate that he knows a specified language. Translation bureaus and notaries work  on contract and sworn translators have authority to sign documents only in that notaries. The procedures required for the various notary acts are given bellow.
